Jack Daniel’s Glaze

I have seen a few recipes for Jack Daniel’s glaze.  I found this one on Pinterest and it sounded good to me.  I kept seeing this delicious looking burger on the TGI Fridays commercial and after so many times I could not take it anymore.  I had to create that burger and Jack Daniel’s glaze to satiate my craving!

I have not been to TGI Fridays to actually taste their glaze, so I can’t tell you if it’s an exact replica or if it’s just close.  To me it doesn’t matter because it was good!  It was also husband approved…highly approved.  I also used it on grilled chicken and it was just as good.  You could also use it for a steak or shrimp marinade too.  Or you could dip a piece of bacon in it…just sayin’ 😉

This recipe makes one pint jar.

Jack Daniel’s glaze

1 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c. Jack Daniel’s whiskey
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. ketchup
1 heaping tablespoon of steak sauce (I used homemade A.1 sauce)
1 heaping tablespoon of Sriracha hot sauce (or your favorite)
3 t. apple cider vinegar
2 t. bacon drippings
2 t. garlic powder
1 t. onion powder
1 t. paprika
1/2 t. chipotle powder
pinch of cayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients in a medium size saucepan.  Simmer until slightly thickened over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes. Stirring frequently with a whisk.
Jack Daniel's glaze

Pour into a pint jar leaving 1/2 inch headroom.  Put on the lid and band, place in the refrigerator and it will self seal.

If kept in the refrigerator I would say it would be good for at least 6 months but I don’t think it will last that long 🙂

I’m still immensely enjoying my grandson and daughter-in-law’s company, I have one more week with them.  I know quite a few of you are not on my facebook, so I thought I’d share a few of my favorite  photos from our week together so far.  The 3rd photo was made by Crissy (daughter-in-law), I think it’s so stinkin’ cute!

He’s such a happy boy and Crissy is a great daughter-in-law!

I remember you sent me some Jack Daniel’s bbq sauce – is this the same thing? It was nummy, I used it to make pulled pork sandwiches last summer! But you can’t beat bacon and bbq sauce/glaze. I’m a huge fan of that combo fo sho! And I die every tie I see pics of Derek Jr. having fun at your place, but still waiting for one of you guys together! He’s just the most happy & precious baby.

Very close V, I sent Jim Beam bbq sauce 🙂 That’s still my favorite bbq sauce. Bacon and glaze is unbeatable! Lil man, Crissy and I are having a lot of fun. Today we’re headed to the beach and to a great little taco stand that I love 🙂

What a cute little bottle of Jack Daniels 🙂 Your grandson is so stinking adorable and I love the pictures with the dogs. Even our two lunatics know to be good and calm around our nieces, it is pretty interesting to see them together.

Suzie, your grandson is gorgeous. What a handsome and cheerful little guy!! Does he remind you of your son at that age?( I’m not sure if I really remember my 20 year old at that age!) Such a sweet smile. How wonderful that the dogs have appointed themselves guardians! My kids have always lived far from their grandparents, so we took lots of pictures and videos while everyone was together to carry us over. Now there is Skype and who knows what will be possible when your grandson is old enough to talk with you!
I am embarrassed to say that I have never made my own bbq sauce. The bottled stuff always did the trick in the past but this recipe looks like it would be a huge hit with my husband and son. I’ll be adding Jack Daniels to the grocery list. Thanks!

My daughter-in-law and I were comparing pictures to when my son was a baby and they really look a lot alike! She is going to make duplicates of a whole stack of pictures 🙂 We’re taking lots of pics and some videos too. I hope your husband and son like the sauce!

  15. such a great idea,
i’m gonna treat my rice liquor this way….
    perfect for my steak!

  16. YUM! That sauce looks great. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to fridays and had some. Would be good on some ribs!! That grandson of yours makes me smile every time I see a pic of him…such a happy, smiley guy. So glad you are getting to spend time with him and his mama!

  17. Sriracha, you say? This is definitely a winner, could see why it’s hubby-approved. And you’re so right! Your baby grandson is SO happy! I just about died over his little teeth and gosh, could his eyelashes be any longer? He’s SO handsome, Suzie. I can just imagine how happy and excited you are right now. Hope it’s the best time EVER!!!

    • Suzie says:

Yep, he knows the girls like those eyelashes…lol!!! He is so snuggable too 🙂 We are having a great time. Tomorrow morning we take her and lil man to Ohio to visit her relatives though. I don’t want to leave them there! 2 weeks went by way to quickly.

  18. biz319 says:

Boys get the best eyelashes, don’t they? I loved the Jack Daniels sauce at Friday’s, but the one by us closed down – have you ever heard of a Friday’s closing down – it was usually busy!

Hope you are having an amazeballs week – enjoy the pool with this hot weather!

    • Suzie says:

My son has the long lashes but, he did get those from me…one thing I actually like about myself…ha! The Friday’s here are always busy too. Crazy that one closed. Crissy and I have been in the pool daily or at least I have, there were a couple days the Texas girl just watched lil man and I play 🙂
