MIA…

Really, I’m not missing in action.  I just tend to leave on occasion.  I’ve had a bit of the blah-blues but, I’m also super busy with photography projects.  I love doing photo shoots but the time that I spend editing just about drives me bonkers!!  It’s soooo time consuming.  No wonder professional photographers make bookoo bucks!!  And yeah, I have no idea if that’s how you spell bookoo.

I’ll recap the week though.  I did have a bit of fun coloring the ends of my hair.  It brightened my hair and spirits.  It did take a couple of times but, yeah I got it and I like it and yes, I’m too old to being doing this.  So what.

Oh and the necklace (and matching earrings…unseen) are my Mama’s day gift, which I LOVE!!! 🙂

Also, part of my Mama’s day gift was a surprise from Afghanistan.  Kind of.  My son filled out paperwork before he left for overseas to send a gift for Mother’s day.  He thought it would be some oddball gift and just did the paperwork, not thinking much of it.

To both of our surprise an awesome gift came.  It contained seeds for flowers and the garden.

A very neat note and little package containing tissues.

3 surprise packages

which were perfume, nail polish and hand lotion.  All from wonderful companies that I really like.

Lastly a bracelet from Things Remembered, a company that I order from frequently and I just adore! 🙂

(It even says “Love from Afghanistan”).

Oh, and also a $10 Sears gift card and a gift certificate to make my soldier a photo album (60 pictures) and have it sent to him for free!!! How cool is that?!?

The program comes out of Virginia and I think it’s an awesome program.  How wonderful that they do that for families of loved ones.  Love, love, love it!!

I also bought this for myself (a whole $5) while shopping for the hub’s Mom

So hope it works!! 🙂

I had hoped, very much hoped to go to the Union Woodshop to eat on Mother’s day.  We had went to my husband’s Mom’s house and she lives about a half hour away from Clarkston, MI.  Union Woodshop is a restaurant that was featured on Food Network’s Diner’s, Drive-in’s and Dives…starring my fav chef Guy Fieri.  This particular episode Kid Rock and Guy were hosting.

As luck would have it, everyone was game to go…yay!  So, I called and there was at least a 2 hour waiting period.  Boo! Guess, that’s the price you pay for being on triple D!! 😉  We figured maybe next year we’ll have better luck 🙂

Last but not least, news about my grandbaby!!  I just found out the gender Friday and am so happy to share.  I am soon to be the proud Granmama of a baby boy.  I.can. not. wait. 😉

Here is the little Mama…love my Crissy!! xoxo

Have a great week y’all and I will try to post at least one recipe this week! 🙂

So exciting about a baby boy, congrats!!

Those are all great Mother’s Day gifts, it’s amazing what they can get done from over there 🙂 And…I love your hair!

She’s due September 26th, my son is scheduled to come home the end of July. I hope he gets to stay for the birth and for awhile after 🙂

Wow, so much exciting stuff! What great Mother’s Day gifts, love the color in your hair (fun, fun, fun), and congrats on knowing that much more about your little grandbaby!
And having a degree in French, I can’t resist saying that “bookoo” is spelled “beaucoup.” Hee hee. =)

    • Suzie says:

I can’t wait to find out what you’re having too! Thank you for the correct spelling, I get lazy and don’t want to look it up so I just post it…lol! Seeing it now though, I have seen it before, it looks much classier 😉

I love when life gets in the way of blogging! Love the recap – and that gift? So cool! I love your hair!!

What an awesome gift, especially since he is so far away and can’t be with you. Your hair looks great, I wish mine could grow that long but it is way too thin. Have a great week!

    • Suzie says:

If my hair is straight it doesn’t look good because it’s thin too. I have to have it curled. Probably the reason I where it up so often 😉 Thanks!

How exciting to have a grandbaby on the way. It sounds like you made the most out of Mother’s Day. Hopefully, next year your guy will be home. Have a great day. Blessings…Mary

This was one of my frist stops upon returning home from vaca and I’m so glad you have a new post up! Boo to the blah blues! I think my vaca cured me–I just hope it lasts-lol! Hope yours goes away with lots of pool time. I do love your hair and the jewelry is so pretty and is a great compliment to the blue tips! I’m really impressed with the gifts USO sent for Derek, wow! The kitchen herbs are cool, I should do something like that. I did buy basil but so far haven’t used it for anything (shame shame). That sucks the wait was so long at Union Woodshop. I wonder if there was enough room for that many people to wait on a table. I bet people were sitting in their cars with those buzzer thingies! Seems like you could check in and then leave and they could call you 15 minutes before they’re ready to seat you so you wouldn’t have to sit and wait so long. Still, when you’re hungry, you’re hungry, and two hours is too long to wait. Hopefully you can get i next year. Congrats on the baby boy! Are they really naming him Derek Junior? I always joked if I had a girl I would name her Veronica Junior-haha. 🙂

I’m glad you are cured and I hope for good! 🙂 I usually open my pool Memorial weekend but, if I have time it will get opened this weekend. That right there perks me right up. I LOVE my pool and it’s great exercise too. This muffin top has to go!!! The hair is cool if you want to do it every 4th day…yep, it just doesn’t stay in. I’ve tried 3 different kinds now. Oh well, it will be for going out or something like that. Not that I go anywhere….ha ha ha! The gifts were awesome I was totally impressed. I’m glad nice companies take the time to donate things. I have a few basil plants in the garden too, I just thought inside right in the kitchen would be neat too. I’m using some this weekend for caprese salad 🙂 I was bummed about the restaurant but, should’ve known it would be packed since airing. They take no reservations and don’t have those buzzers either! So, it was wait or don’t go. No one was willing to wait and we did have to get back to the doggies so we decided it would have to be next year or at least some other time. Darn! Yep, the baby’s name will be Derek Jr.(I was thinking DJ since I shorten or give everyone nicknames). He was teasing me last night on fb about not getting to hold the baby…lil turd!! 😉 Veronica Junior…hee hee, I could see a mini-you wielding a knife…ha ha ha! 😉
